Matthew Perry is an unsung hero, but not just for his role as Chandler Bing on ‘FRIENDS’

Here are his best Chandler Bing moments

Tribute to matthew perry

Matthew Perry, famously known for his decade-long and legendary performance as Chandler Bing, has been an inspiration and a force to be reckoned with. He takes with him a piece of a lot of our childhood. From those who feel teary-eyed watching FRIENDS now after his death, to those who related to his sarcastic humor, to those who understood the dynamism of his personality outside the FRIENDS context.

To this day, there aren’t many comedy sitcoms that are as popular, well-liked, and well-received as FRIENDS. The thought of the TV show just leaves a warm fuzzy feeling in many’s hearts, and Matthew Perry was a huge reason for that. But despite his legendary role in FRIENDS, Matthew Perry needs to be remembered for so much more...his victory against drug and alcohol addiction, and his eventual heroic efforts to save people from going down the path he did. He took his struggles and used them to try and help others, and this should be one of the many reasons we celebrate his life as we mourn his death.

And although he left this earth too early, and no one was ready for it, we will not mourn his death right now. Let's celebrate the humor and vigor this man brought to the world.

Here are our favorite Chandler Bing moments:

1. The One with Chandler in a Box

2. The One where he gets stuck in a bathroom and Julia Roberts steals his clothes https://images.app.goo.gl/7KJfffeC5ZnwX6dG9

3. The One where they don’t know that we know that they know https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUN2YN0bOi8&ab_channel=ChanLi

4. The One where Phoebe attempts to seduce Chandler

5. The One where Chandler can’t remember which sister

Apart from his heartwarming portrayal of Chandler Bing in Friends, Matthew Perry has left behind a deeper legacy. He has been incredibly transparent about his battle with addiction in his memoir Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing and the press run he did for it.

Perry openly spoke about how he found himself in addiction and his road to rehab and sobriety. In his own words, he wants to be remembered for that and for helping people fight their addiction. He made significant efforts to help uplift the people devastated by this disease (as he insists we call it), the most prominent of which was the Perry House, a living facility he set up for men fighting addiction.

He prided himself, not in his success on Friends or his stardom in cinema, but in his capacity and ability to help anyone asking for help against addiction.

It's deeply saddening that we lost such a beautiful soul so soon. His friends, family, fans of Chandler Bing and so many people who owe their sober lives to him will miss and remember him everyday for the rest of their lives. Such is the legacy of Matthew Perry.
